Scrape the onions into a circle roughly the size of your burger, and place a formed 80/20 beef burger patty, seasoned to your liking, on top.
Immediately press the burger down onto the onions with a spatula (doing this quickly will avoid pressing out any of the fats and drying out your burger) to adhere the onions to the patty.
Cook 3-5 minutes, until onions are a deep, golden brown, and then flip the burger and finish cooking.
Top your burger with your favorite toppings, and serve!
